Tuesday, September 10th, 2019

Since starting up Lindsey Arber Photography I have worked closely with Debbie and the Wedding Belles Bridal Boutique team. The boutique offers a relaxed and professional service, with a huge selection of wedding gowns to browse. They stock a number of carefully selected designers offering a variety of styles and sizes. This includes a plus size collection and a T-length collection. They really do have something for everyone. Wedding Belles is the boutique I recommend to all my brides who are yet to find their dream wedding dress. So here is more about the boutique from the lovely Wedding Belles team themselves:

Wedding Belles Bridal Boutique

If you are getting married in 2020 or beyond and are yet to say yes to the dress, Wedding Belles Bridal Boutique is certainly worth a visit. Wedding Belles Bridal Boutique opened its doors in 1990 and is based in the beautiful village of Kibworth Beauchamp, Leicestershire close to Market Harborough and only 10 miles from Leicester.

Wedding dresses are something most of us dream about when we are little girls. It’s the dress that no other dress can compare too. The dress you will wear when marrying the person you want to spend the rest of your life with. We believe the process of finding and buying this dress should be part of that dream. When searching for your dress you should be most importantly be relaxed. You should also given advice on shapes and styles that best suit you. Our trained consultants are dedicated to helping you find the dress you have been dreaming of.

We want every bride who comes through our doors to have a wonderful experience when finding their dress with us. In our spacious private bridal suite, we help brides every step of the way. From finding the best style that makes them feel amazing to helping with accessories to finish the whole look. Once the dream dress is found one of our amazing in-house seamstresses will make sure it is altered to fit perfectly for the big day.

Meet the team

Debbie: Owner, Consultation and Seamstress

Debbie is the owner of Wedding Belles and oversees every aspect of the boutique. From being one of the first faces you will see when you come into the boutique. She is a consultant to the brides, and not forgetting the mothers of the brides. Using her years of knowledge to guide each bride throughout their appointment. Helping them find a shape and style they love. Whilst making the experience of finding their dream dress fun and relaxed. Debbie is also a bridal seamstress and makes sure that each dress fits the bride perfectly on her big day. Whilst doing all this Debbie makes sure the boutique runs smoothly on a day to day basis. For Debbie it is all about each lady having the experience they deserve throughout their wedding dress buying process. Debbie also spends a lot of time in the office under a pile of paperwork after the shop has closed.

Gemma: Bridal Consultant and Social Media Coordinator

Gemma started with the boutique back in 2015. She is also one of the first faces you will see in the boutique. She is a Bridal and Mother of the Bride consultant. Helping brides pick out their dream dress using her years of knowledge. Guiding brides throughout their appointment in a fun and professional way to help them find their dream dress. Gemma makes mums feel very comfortable and relaxed during their appointments and advises them on style and shape. Gemma also spends many an hour sorting the social media, website and blogs when the time allows her to.

Jeanette: Mother of the Bride Consultant and Trainee Bridal Consultant.

Jeanette has been with the Wedding Belles Family since  beginning of 2018 and is one of our Mother of the Bride Consultants. Using her extensive knowledge of the outfits and designers we hold, Jeanette helps mum’s, grandma’s and aunties of the bride and groom find their perfect outfit for the big day. She also supports the Bridal Consultants during appointments. Jeanette is also training to become a bridal consultant herself. She will soon be helping brides find their dream dresses in our bridal suite. Jeanette keeps the boutique looking clean and tidy and is often found in the office sorting out brides files.

Michala: Seamstress

Michala is one of our wonderful seamstresses. She has been making sure brides dresses have fit them perfectly for many years. She has been with the boutique since early 2019. Her years of experience mean she is great at listening to our brides whilst making those all important finishing touches. Michala will make you feel relaxed through out your alterations. She ensures each bride is feeling happy and confident in their wedding dress before it is collected for the big day.

What to expect when booking in with Wedding Belles

We run by an appointment only system. This ensures we give each bride and mum the private and relaxed appointment they should have. As expected our busiest day is a Saturday. It is always best to book at least a few weeks in advance to avoid disappointment. Our weekdays are a little quieter, however our fittings and alterations appointments are held in the boutique during the week. This means there is always something going on. So even for weekday appointments its best to book at least a week in advance. This way we can try our best to book you in for a time and day that suits you.

We like to hold an array of shapes and styles of wedding dresses and mother of the bride/groom outfits. We like to have around 80-100 wedding dresses in the boutique at one time. With sample sizes from a 6 to a 26 in different shapes and styles. Our mother of the bride lounge holds between 200 – 300 outfits in sizes 8 – 26 in different shapes and colours.

We store all our brides dresses in the boutique for free. We press the dresses to make sure they look flawless for the photos. It is carefully placed in a gown bag and even carried out to the bride’s car when she collects her dress.

Tips for your appointment

We recommend for a bride to bring those people who will help in making the decision easier. Some brides cannot say yes without mum or nan. For some its their maid of honour. We simply suggest making sure that the people who come with them have the brides best interests at heart. Their appointment is all about finding a dress that suits their shape and style.

Our appointments last approximately 1hour 15 minutes. We don’t like our brides to feel rushed or overwhelmed. It can be a daunting thing entering a boutique with so many beautiful dresses, not knowing were to start. This is were we come in. Our highly trained bridal consultants use their experience and knowledge of the designers, to help guide and advise each bride in a relaxed and personal way. We want each bride to have an enjoyable experience with us.

Designer news in the boutique

We are very excited about the new designer we have added to our boutique this year. Our ‘Graceful with Curves’ collection arrived in the boutique in the spring of 2019. The collection has proven to be very popular with our brides. We love how well the styles compliment our other designers. We have of course added to our Sincerity by Justin Alexander and our Kenneth Winston and Ella Rosa collections. Not forgetting our 50’s inspired T dress collection by True Brides Brighton Belle. Over the last year we have started working with a new bridal accessories company. The collection has certainly gone down well with our brides. The jewellery and hair pieces complement our gowns so well and our brides are loving them.

Wedding dress trends for 2019/ 2020

Over the past few years we have noticed more colours coming into the industry which we think is fantastic. Not everyone can or wants to wear Ivory or white. The colours we have in the boutique are lovely warm subtle shades that can warm a bride’s complexion. We have noticed more designers are now offering their take on the sophisticated plain wedding dress. A trend that was set recently by Meghan, the duchess of Sussex. Veils have also become more popular with brides over the last few years. Our brides are loving our long laced edged veils as well as the shorter ones we hold in the boutique.

We have seen a rise in Autumn and Winter weddings for 2019. 2020 Spring and Summer weddings are looking to be popular choice for couples planning on tying the knot next year. We are currently helping a lot of 2020/21 brides find their dream dresses. Our consultants and seamstresses are very much looking forward to another busy year. We love meeting new brides each day and being part of their wedding day memories.

Wedding venues with beautiful settings for a civil ceremony

Wednesday, December 12th, 2018

As a wedding photographer being based in Northamptonshire is great! We have some stunning venues right on our door step as well as having lots more just a stones throw away. Leicestershire and Cambridgeshire are just a couple of our neighbouring counties with wedding venues I have also mentioned below. So here are a few of my favourite wedding venues with beautiful settings for a civil ceremony.

Bassmead Manor Barns-

Bassmead Manor is simply stunning. The estate is over 700 years old with the grade II listed manor house and farm buildings, and only a 50 minute drive with it being a Cambridgeshire wedding venue. As soon as you walk in to the ceremony barn you can see the history in the stunning oak beams and floor. The chandeliers and carefully placed fairy lights finish the room off perfectly, creating a fairy tale setting to tie the knot.

I loved every minute of photographing the wedding of Amy and Jake at Bassmead Manor Barns and would love to return for others.

Barton Hall Hotel-

Barton Hall Hotel is probably one of the closest wedding venues to me personally with it being located in Barton Seagrave. It is also one that I have been able to photograph multiple weddings at over the years and it never disappoints. A Grade II listed Hotel with lovely grounds giving lots of options for wedding photos. I think all couples who book Barton Hall as their venue will agree that the orangery makes the decision an easy one. Endless natural light for bright and airy ceremony photos and a relaxed space mixing indoors with outdoors for the drinks reception.

I already have more weddings to look forward to photographing at Barton Hall Hotel over the next couple of years…bring them on!

Dodford Manor-

Dodford Manor is an award-winning grade II listed restored barn wedding venue, surrounded by more than 20 acres of Northamptonshire countryside. This venue is always immaculately presented and is so versatile it works for all styles. Guests are taken through to the historic Mortain Barn for the ceremony. The Barn is kept as a blank canvas for couples to add their style for their day against the beautiful stone walls. A couple of photos below show a small glimpse in to a previous wedding captured at Dodford Manor.

Hothorpe Hall-

Hothorpe Hall really delivers on the wow factor as you enter over the cattle grids and drive towards the main entrance. The ceremony room offers a traditional setting to say ‘I do’ in with so much natural light flooding through the large manor house windows. Guests get to look out on to amazing views whilst waiting for the ceremony to begin. Maybe its the tall ceilings and grand features of the manor that make this setting so calm and relaxing for its wedding parties to enjoy.

Hothorpe is a Leicestershire wedding venue but still so close to home it would be lovely to return and make the most of a venue right on my door step.

Dodmoor House-

If you are wanting a romantic and intimate setting for your wedding day then Dodmoor House would give you just that. The Grade II listed, family-run venue is all about the personal touches for your big day. From the weddings I have photographed here the ceremony room offered a cosy atmosphere as the couples said their vows. You get all the features of a barn venue but with plenty of natural light from the various windows that open on to the patio. Another gem of a local venue that is hidden away in the countryside, and one I am set to return to for a 2019 wedding.

Keythorpe Manor-

Keythorpe gives an idyllic location for a wedding day in a rural setting. Set in the South Leicestershire countryside this is another venue close to home for me. The moment you drive through the gates you are taken aback by the well kept grounds surrounding you. The restored Oak Barn that used to be part of the stables, offers a rustic yet modern setting to hold a ceremony. Probably one of the larger barns I have photographed a ceremony in which is great for larger wedding parties. And although I have mentioned this a lot, its also great for natural light meaning nice bright wedding photos.

So these are just a handful of wedding venues with beautiful settings for a civil ceremony, that I have recently photographed. I have photographed many other venues for my couples in various locations over the uk and of course many church weddings too. If you are planning your wedding for 2019 or 2020 then it might be that this blog was helpful in showing you some of the options available in and around Northamptonshire.

The recent goings on at Lindsey Arber Photography!

Friday, August 17th, 2018

You may have noticed it has been a while since my last blog post! Which is down to being very busy both work wise and personally. So this blog is all about letting you know of the recent goings on at Lindsey Arber Photography.

Last Summer-

So last summer was a busy one with lots of beautiful weddings, a very busy studio and all whilst being pregnant with baby Finley. He is turning 6 months as of next Friday (where did that time go?!). At the end of 2017 over the Christmas break, I made the decision to close the studio and focus on the wedding photography side of the business. The studio side of Lindsey Arber Photography was going really well and proving popular however I realised I just wouldn’t be able to meet the demand anymore. My decision to focus on weddings meant I could have a better balance of being a mum but could also carry on doing what I love in photographing lots more weddings!

Finley & 2018 so far-

Finley made his appearance in February of this year and is just amazing! My first wedding of the year was when he was just 7 weeks old and I am so glad I got straight back in to it. My lovely bride and groom of this particular wedding actually invited him along to the day to make it that bit easier which was so thoughtful of them. Luckily he was really well behaved and had a chilled day taking it all in…and mostly sleeping!

I’d decided to keep 2018 a bit quieter on the wedding bookings front as I knew I would still be getting in to the swing of having Finley around. I have still been lucky enough to have some truly beautiful weddings with couples who have made me and my second shooters feel so welcome. I have lots of photos to share from each of the weddings so far, so keep an eye on our social media platforms for updates of our recent work.

Changes & Updates moving forward-

2018 has also seen an update to the website which I hope you all like! It is an ongoing task as and when time allows. These decisions always take time but its something that I like to try and perfect whenever a new idea comes to mind, so hopefully worth the wait. What with now focusing on wedding photography, I felt a new logo was needed to better represent where the brand of Lindsey Arber Photography was heading moving forward. As you can see its all about the greys and rose golds. Keeping things simple and elegant to show you are choosing a high end service when booking with us for your wedding photography.

Its exciting to see what the remainder of this years weddings have in store for us, as well as our 2019 & 2020 weddings which are filling up nicely.

One thing I do keep getting asked about are my Autumn Mini Sessions. These have proven very popular for family portraits over the last few years so I will continue to offer these. The clue is in the name that these take place in the Autumn and I will be sharing details of dates and prices very soon for all of you who have been wondering.

I would love it if you did continue to follow us and to keep up to date with our latest work. If you know of anyone getting married who is yet to book their wedding photographer, then why not put us in touch. x
